Before starting a new blog, first decide on the topic, or niche. This is vitally important if you plan on blogging for profit, or monetizing your blog. Here we will look at the areas a blogger should consider when choosing a subject for a new blog. This information will help not only the first time blogger, but experienced bloggers who want to start a new niche blog.
A good idea for the first time blogger is to select a niche idea that you are knowledgeable and interested in. Nothing dampens the spirit faster than having to force yourself to write blog posts about something that you struggle to come up with ideas for or that you are bored with. Equally important, however, is to carefully research the amount of competition and reader interest your blog niche currently has. How many other blogs are there in your chosen niche? How many people are interested in your topic? If there are too many people… Continue reading
Online microcommunities and websites?
Question by : Online microcommunities and websites?
Essentially, I am looking for micro-communities on the internet, small niche audiences. Specifically for these micro-communities, I `want to find the top website for each community. For instance, for knitting, http://www.knittinghelp.com seems to be the essential resource for this smallish community.

Answer by Flo
Hi,
If you use google.com to search keywords, you’ll find where the micro-communities are going to – the reason is because google ‘ranks’ websites by the number of links to them from other websites – like personal blogs and webpages created by members of that micro-community – so, if you enter “knitting”, you’ll find that the fourth entry is knittinghelp.com.
The only problem that comes up is that sometimes, spammers create links on websites they own or put spam on in order to move up their position on google – google tries to exclude data from spam sites, but sometimes they still show up. It’s pretty easy to spot these in the google results because they contain a lot of keywords in their listing, but often they’re just strung together without making any sense.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Finding the Niche That’s Perfect for You
Your success as an online marketer is very dependent upon the niche you choose therefore you will want to make your selection carefully. When possible it is recommended to choose a niche market you have an avid interest in however our own passions do not always make for profitable businesses! Here is a look at the 3 most critical criteria any niche market should meet that gives you your very best chances for business success well into the future.
People Will Spend Money
It all starts with a willingness to spend money within the market and if this is not clearly the case you will be likely wasting your time and energy. In order for business success to be achieved in any market segment there must be a ‘demand’ and money being spent! You must have both or it is time to look elsewhere!

Niche Research is OVER! | Google Page 1 ranking?
www.checkitat.com Niche and Keyword research is over, done no more! The biggest problem facing many beginner and intermediate Internet Marketers is knowing what makes a profitable niche and how to choose the right one… Keywords are grouped together in to relevant “Niches” with the “depth” (no of available qualified keywords) and estimated traffic volume and monthly values for each niche. Now your members can own entire markets instead of fighting it out on individual keywords. No more Google Keywords, no more Market Samurai, no more keywords research. All they need to do is get on with building their sites and fanpages to catch the available traffic and monetize it. Niche Reaper researches over 20000 brand new keywords every single day. It scores and color codes them based on a variety of factors — Google Page 1 ranking opportunities, monthly value, available keywords domains and FaceBack pages.

What’s the deal with Micro Niche Finder?
Question by grrrr: What’s the deal with Micro Niche Finder?
So, i’ve been watching these awesome videos from the Micro Niche Finder (MNF) site
that show how to use the tool to find niches and business models to leverage that info.
My question is, does the MNF tool do anything that you coundn’t just do with a little
elbow grease, looking up the info manually. I know it makes things much more
convenient (and this might be a reason to buy this tool), but is it strictly necessary?
I guess the real question is: does MNF do anything unique, anything that you can
not accomplish with other, free tools?
I’m looking for answers from a real users here.
Thanks

MFN gives you a lot of information, but as you said you can get majority of this information from various sources yourself.
But there is one and unique peace of information that can’t be found by yourself and was the reason I bought MNF.It is called SOC and stands for: Strength of Competition.
This single parameter will tell you how strong is competition for a given keyword. It comes in a number format (smaller the… Continue reading

How To Choose A Niche for Your Internet Marketing Business
Article by Michael Tasker
Once you know how to choose a niche for your information marketing business you are much further ahead of many who aspire to build an internet business but either don’t start or begin but soon lose interest. It is because you have found that there is a demand for information coupled with low competition in your chosen niche, which is the perfect foundation for success.
So how do you go about making this important choice? My usual suggestion is to choose a subject niche that you yourself are familiar with, one that you possess personal experience of and have an interest in. Why is that so? It’s because if you are interested in something, even have a passion for it, you will make a better go of making progress and it will be much easier for you to put a lot of effort in. A lot of content requires to be created not just in product creation but also marketing your website and it is so much easier to create this when you are interested in it and have bags of knowledge about the subject niche.
Once you have identified potential subject choices, you need to… Continue reading
